Scripture tells us that in the end times, people will lose the ability to reason.  They will think they are waxing eloquently and intelligently, however their thoughts and actions will lack wisdom. 

This is becoming more and more clear everyday, as we spiral toward the end of all known things and come face to face with our Creator.

We live in unprecedented times in America when standing up and professing one's belief in the Christian faith is now license to be mocked, abused, assaulted and ridiculed.  

Christians are being told by Presidential candidates that we must change our belief on such things as marriage and abortion.  

Christians are considered "old fashioned", "backward" , "uneducated" and a major obstacle to a world utopia, devoid of any reliance on mythical characters from ancient books.  

Christians are being targeted by activists and progressive government entities demanding a "group think" mentality when it comes to the matter of marriage, gender identity and all things sexual.  The pressure to compromise on our sincerely held beliefs it reaching a tipping point.   

Despite being a country who allegedly prides itself on free speech, it is on a road to classifying the tenets of Christianity "hate."  Followers of the cross are under assault, with the tacit approval of the current administration. 

As professing believers, none of this should surprise or alarm us.  What is surprising, is the speed at which the war on Christianity is accelerating in a country founded upon a Judeo-Christian belief.  When all morality is relative, who will become the rulemakers?

The walled city of Petra. Most will recognize this strategic city, located about 200 miles SSE of Jerusalem as the place featured in an Indiana Jones movie. The "Treasury", an amazing structure carved into the steep vertical walls of the city, is a frequent destination for tourists during any visit to the Middle East. However, there is substantial evidence from Scripture that indicates that Petra will be the place where the Jewish people will flee once the Antichrist desecrates the temple by declaring himself to be God. With their eyes now open to his deception, they will flee into the mountains as the persecution rages and many fall under the blade of the Antichrist. On the American home front, the persecution and harassment of those holding Christian beliefs continues to accelerate. High ranking officials, with skeletons in their own closets, are imploring those with long held religious beliefs to "change them" in order to fit into the permissive agenda being set on the world stage. Whom will we, as a nation, serve in this conflict?  Will we remain a strong ally of Israel and stand at her side in the face of increasing adversity, or will this administration thumb its nose at Israel and God and incur the curse promised by God in Genesis 12:3?

Buckle your seat belts...this coming week will be one that could impact our world for eternity.

Never before in modern history has the Christian faith been under assault worldwide as it has in the past few months. And the increasing pressure on American Christians to abandon to their long-held beliefs that marriage is only between a man and a woman is taking its toll on those who believe what Scripture says, not what the progressive movement believes it should say.  

Despite the federal protection offered by the First Amendment of the US Constitution that  prevents government from infringing on the rights of Americans to freely observe and express their religious beliefs, the mainstream press is executing a full-court press on Christians who hold Scripture to be the inspired Word of God.   

As it was in the Days of Lot, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Join John has he addresses this issue, among many others, in this week's Prophecy Update.

Is there an invisible hand working in the Middle East?  Seems that Operation Mass Confusion is occurring there, with a schizophrenic foreign policy from the US and countries scrambling for control of the region.  The lack of American leadership under this administration has turned the Middle East into a hotbed of conflict, one which will not soon be extinguished, barring significant concessions.  But who will have to give in?  

The US is demanding Israel retreat to the pre 1967 borders to institute a 2-state solution, but yet does not condemn the Palestinian Government for it's coddling of Hamas and Hezbollah, both who call for the destruction of the Jewish state.  In addition, our great country has taken HAMAS and IRAN off of the terror watch list.  

Can you blame Israel for being a bit nervous about the US negotiating a nuke deal after our President so efficiently negotiated for the release of Bowe Bergdahl?  Join John as he, despite him not "knowing where to begin", untangles the ever-changing situation in the Middle East and our country's role in destabilizing the region.

With the re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party who took 30 seats in the Knesset, the White House and the progressive left are up in arms over Israel and the so-called "Peace Process".  Liberal pundits are out in full force trying to minimize the impact of the decision of the Israeli people.  

There is a disconnect in our foreign policy.  Just Friday, John Kerry praised the progress of the #NukeDeal, and on the very next day, the Iranian Leader led chants of "Death to America" in a public speech to his nation.  Have we totally lost our collective minds, or are there hidden agendas involved?  

Bibi's reaffirmation vote has set up a showdown between the Obama Administration, the United Nations, and Israel.   But we do not fear, for we know that God is in full control, and He will be directly involved in the process.

Voskamp longs to “burn,” “flush of embarrassment up the face” and tells the reader that we are to “cohabit” with God (218).
