Pastor Steve explores the Faith of our Biblical fathers, beginning with"Avraham Avinu" (Abraham, our father). The ancient world was full of demonic spirits and false gods, including Allah, the moon god, who still today leads billions of people to their ultimate and eternal destruction.
Unfortunately, the modern day church is replete with its own false teachers, who seemingly channel the same spirits but do so in a way to disguise and package an entirely different Jesus. From those teachers, we should all flee.
Scripture tells us that in the end times, people will lose the ability to reason. They will think they are waxing eloquently and intelligently, however their thoughts and actions will lack wisdom.
This is becoming more and more clear everyday, as we spiral toward the end of all known things and come face to face with our Creator.
"Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done." Romans 1:28
Pastor Steve continues his message on the Book of Hebrews with part 2 of his series, "Faith of our Fathers". What is it like to have the faith of Abraham, who, at the age of 99 is told by God that he would have a son? If God makes a promise, He will keep it, and in the case of Abraham, his descendants are too numerous to count solely because of his faith, and God's promise.
John makes bold statements on the decisions coming down from the SCOTUS regarding marriage and other critical issues. Evil is clearly on the rampage...could the persecution of the American Christian Church be near?
Tune in, and get ready to do your homework on 2 Thess 2:6-8, which John will address in next week's message.
…6And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;…

John typically pulls no punches and true to form, this week is no exception.
From gender-identity issues, to the Pope, to the Turkish President, this week's Prophecy Update is sure to stimulate interesting conversation and comments. Is the modern day church in America, the Church of Babylon mentioned in Scripture?. Be sure to tune in and listen to John's thoughts on the State of the World as we draw closer to the soon return of Christ.
God is raising Watchmen in the End Times. They are here to observe and warn, as America and the world continues to spiral toward an ultimate confrontation with our Creator God.
From elaborate ISIS recruitment videos, to man's worldly pursuit of eternity through trans-humanistic technology, to a Draw Muhammed cartoon contest, it seems that the ability to reason has been lost. When Elton John and Rick Warren team up, and when the open call by radical Imams for Pam Geller's death bring little condemnation by the mainstream media, one of FBC's "Watchmen" brings us up to date on the state of the world with today's Prophecy Update.
Pastor Steve continues his teaching on the commands in Scripture to gather together as believers in study, in communion, and in fellowship around the the Word of God.
Pastor Steve Mitchell continues a series of messages on the command for Christians to assemble. Iron sharpens iron, and unless we gather and study the Word of God, it is difficult to grow as Christians.
We live in unprecedented times in America when standing up and professing one's belief in the Christian faith is now license to be mocked, abused, assaulted and ridiculed.
Christians are being told by Presidential candidates that we must change our belief on such things as marriage and abortion.
Christians are considered "old fashioned", "backward" , "uneducated" and a major obstacle to a world utopia, devoid of any reliance on mythical characters from ancient books.
Christians are being targeted by activists and progressive government entities demanding a "group think" mentality when it comes to the matter of marriage, gender identity and all things sexual. The pressure to compromise on our sincerely held beliefs it reaching a tipping point.
Despite being a country who allegedly prides itself on free speech, it is on a road to classifying the tenets of Christianity "hate." Followers of the cross are under assault, with the tacit approval of the current administration.
As professing believers, none of this should surprise or alarm us. What is surprising, is the speed at which the war on Christianity is accelerating in a country founded upon a Judeo-Christian belief. When all morality is relative, who will become the rulemakers?
Hang on tight, as John shares insight and info on the state of the world, and the soon return of Christ to make all things right!
The walled city of Petra. Most will recognize this strategic city, located about 200 miles SSE of Jerusalem as the place featured in an Indiana Jones movie. The "Treasury", an amazing structure carved into the steep vertical walls of the city, is a frequent destination for tourists during any visit to the Middle East. However, there is substantial evidence from Scripture that indicates that Petra will be the place where the Jewish people will flee once the Antichrist desecrates the temple by declaring himself to be God. With their eyes now open to his deception, they will flee into the mountains as the persecution rages and many fall under the blade of the Antichrist. On the American home front, the persecution and harassment of those holding Christian beliefs continues to accelerate. High ranking officials, with skeletons in their own closets, are imploring those with long held religious beliefs to "change them" in order to fit into the permissive agenda being set on the world stage. Clearly, the time of our redemption is drawing near. The world is falling apart, and now, more than ever, we need to draw more near to our Savior.
Are you a lone wolf Christian? Join Pastor Steve Mitchell as he explores the command to assemble together as Christians, even in groups of two or three. An ember, separated from the fire, quickly burns out, however, gathered together with others, a fire can quickly ignite and spread a message of Faith, Hope and Love.

Scripture tells us that in the End Times, men will not put up with sound doctrine. We are at that point in history.

Saying one thing and doing another? Join John as he shares insight on the current US Administration and their double-speak involving Israel and the upcoming March 3rd, 2015 speech of Benjamin Netanyahu to the United States Congress. John gives us a clear "reality check" on what the administration says, and what it does, toward one of our only solid allies in the Middle East.
Thousands of years ago, another Israeli found himself in a similar situation. According to the Book of Esther, Haman, royal vizier to King Ahasuerus planned to kill all the Jews in the empire, but his plans were foiled by Mordecai and his cousin and adopted daughter Esther, who had risen to become Queen of Persia. The day of deliverance became a day of feasting and rejoicing. It is now celebrated as Purim, which this year is celebrated beginning on the evening of March 4th through the morning of March 5th.
Tomorrow, the Prime Minister of Israel will address a threat of similar intensity from Iran, whose leaders have repeatedly called for the destruction of the Jewish state.
Whom will we, as a nation, serve in this conflict? Will we remain a strong ally of Israel and stand at her side in the face of increasing adversity, or will this administration thumb its nose at Israel and God and incur the curse promised by God in Genesis 12:3?
Buckle your seat belts...this coming week will be one that could impact our world for eternity.
Never before in modern history has the Christian faith been under assault worldwide as it has in the past few months. And the increasing pressure on American Christians to abandon to their long-held beliefs that marriage is only between a man and a woman is taking its toll on those who believe what Scripture says, not what the progressive movement believes it should say.
Despite the federal protection offered by the First Amendment of the US Constitution that prevents government from infringing on the rights of Americans to freely observe and express their religious beliefs, the mainstream press is executing a full-court press on Christians who hold Scripture to be the inspired Word of God.
As it was in the Days of Lot, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Join John has he addresses this issue, among many others, in this week's Prophecy Update.
Is there an invisible hand working in the Middle East? Seems that Operation Mass Confusion is occurring there, with a schizophrenic foreign policy from the US and countries scrambling for control of the region. The lack of American leadership under this administration has turned the Middle East into a hotbed of conflict, one which will not soon be extinguished, barring significant concessions. But who will have to give in?
The US is demanding Israel retreat to the pre 1967 borders to institute a 2-state solution, but yet does not condemn the Palestinian Government for it's coddling of Hamas and Hezbollah, both who call for the destruction of the Jewish state. In addition, our great country has taken HAMAS and IRAN off of the terror watch list.
Can you blame Israel for being a bit nervous about the US negotiating a nuke deal after our President so efficiently negotiated for the release of Bowe Bergdahl? Join John as he, despite him not "knowing where to begin", untangles the ever-changing situation in the Middle East and our country's role in destabilizing the region.
With the re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party who took 30 seats in the Knesset, the White House and the progressive left are up in arms over Israel and the so-called "Peace Process". Liberal pundits are out in full force trying to minimize the impact of the decision of the Israeli people.
There is a disconnect in our foreign policy. Just Friday, John Kerry praised the progress of the #NukeDeal, and on the very next day, the Iranian Leader led chants of "Death to America" in a public speech to his nation. Have we totally lost our collective minds, or are there hidden agendas involved?
Bibi's reaffirmation vote has set up a showdown between the Obama Administration, the United Nations, and Israel. But we do not fear, for we know that God is in full control, and He will be directly involved in the process.

Eroticism and Jesus. Does this sound like the God of the Bible as depicted in Scripture? Ann Voskamp thinks so. Passages in her book "One Thousand Gifts" are both alarming and shocking when compared to Scripture.
Should women who love Jesus with all of their hearts and minds be thinking of Him the way Ann does, when she says things like "I fly to Paris and discover how to make love to God”? (201)
Or when She states that Jesus is “bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh” (217), using language from Genesis 2:23 where Adam describes his partner, Eve. “I want to be in God and God to be in me, to exchange love and blessings and caresses” (217), she writes, moving on to words like “interchange,” “intercourse (twice),” “disrobed,” and declaring how this intercourse is “the climax of joy” (217-218). Voskamp longs to “burn,” “flush of embarrassment up the face” and tells the reader that we are to “cohabit” with God (218).

Gay marriage, a nuclear Iran, and well-known "pastors" seemingly compromising long standing tenants of the faith. Are we in the last days as prophecy seems to foretell? Is our US Administration turning a blind eye to the true threat posed by Iran and its pursuit of uranium enrichment? Why were certain elements of Congress afraid of what Prime Minister Netanyahu would say to them during his March 3, 2015 speech to Congress? And what in the world is Andy Stanley saying? So much to cover, so little time.
